In New York while substituting for two years, I tutored seniors in preparation for the Regents Exam. My classes had the highest scores in the school. In Miami where I taught gifted 7th through 12 grades, I had my 7th graders complete two out of three chapters in Geometry. I enjoy challenging students to excel in subject areas that they never felt were possible.

From August, 1985 to December, 2014 I worked for the Department of Children and Families where I worked in a number of different capacities. From December, 1988 until February, 1992 I trained over 5,000 staff from eight different departments in 35 types of trainings. My specialty was child abuse where my audience included physicians, nurses, mental health professionals and teachers. My initial hand-out was a child development chart . I later became a Child Protective investigator for eight years where I would accompany law enforcement to the homes of children who were alleged to be abused. I literally had approximately one hour to assess the risk to these children. If removal was warranted, I had that responsibility . However, in most case in-home services such as counseling for the family was the best mode of treatment for both the parent(s) and children.

In 1982 after relocating from New York, I taught 9th grade English. Following this, from 1988 to 1982 I designed and taught Wring Skills for Secretaries, Counselors and Administrators all of whom worked for the Department of Children and Families.

I also wrote an autobiography in 2008 which is based upon the "baby boomers". It has yet to be published.
