My name is Renata. I am a trained, certified, and experienced language teacher, intercultural and diversity coach, and communication skills trainer. My name is Renata. I am a trained, certified, and experienced language teacher, intercultural and diversity coach, and communication skills trainer. I can call on many years of experience teaching ESL, TOEFL. IELTS, German, Test DaF, Zertifikat Deutsch, Italian, communication skills for business (public speaking, presentations, meetings, negotiations, interview skills) and intercultural communication skills (working in international teams or with clients abroad, cultural awareness, country specific training, and managing international, diverse, and virtual teams). For teambuilding activities, intercultural and diversity coaching, I use Global DISC. I am a licensed practitioner of ICQ Global DISC. In addition to that, I offer translation/ interpretation services (English-German/ German-English), and I also have a business background, specializing in Human Resources Training and Development, Public Relations, Communications, and Marketing. Finally, I also help clients with their resumes and cover letters, and I prepare them for their interviews. I provide a safe space for practicing and getting constructive feedback before facing a real situation in life.

I am bi-lingual English and German, and I have a multi-lingual/ multi-cultural background. I also speak Italian and French, and I have a basic understanding of Spanish. I have also studied some Portuguese, Russian, and Japanese. Being passionate about learning, training, and development, I can empathize with language and culture related issues and help my clients reach their goals. I have worked with large international corporations, smaller local businesses, language schools, mobility firms, executives, professionals, and private individuals.

I have been a language teacher and intercultural trainer for 20+ years, and I speak four languages myself. Having grown up with German and British English, I taught myself how to sound more American after moving to the US more than 15 years ago. I can also easily transition between my native Bavarian accent and High German, and I understand a variety of English accents and dialects. I am a trained and certified ESL teacher and have taught English as a second language for many years. Being bi-lingual (English and German) and having learned other languages myself (Italian, French, Spanish) has deepened my understanding of problem areas when learning a foreign language and how to solve these issues. Not only do I know how to teach English to beginners and advanced learners of English but also what it means to learn, use, and maintain a foreign language. I also specialize in accent reduction. I have helped many students reduce their accent and sound either more British or more American when they speak English. Speakers of different languages have different issues with English, not just grammar but also pronunciation. I focus on those particular problem areas and will help you sound more authentic and natural when speaking English. I have helped adults and adolescents improve their English language and communication skills as well as prepare them for living and working/ schooling in an English speaking environment. TOEFL

The TOEFL (Test of English as a foreign language) is the most widely recognized test to assess a non-native speaker's academic English language skills, and an IBT score of 75 to 100 is usually required for university admission. The test is highly demanding and cannot be mastered without preparation. The TOEFL consists of four parts: reading, listening, speaking and writing. Usually, speaking and writing are perceived as the two most challenging parts. These are the two parts most students actually need a tutor for, whereas the reading and listening parts can be tackled as a self-study task with a little bit of guidance by a tutor. I specialize in TOEFL preparation courses. I am a trained and certified ESL and TOEFL teacher who keeps up-to-date on everything about TOEFL. Very competent tutor with a versatile skillset

I have worked with Renata for several months now and I can really recommend her! We have had some English grammar lessons together, where we have talked about reported speech, passive voice, tenses, conditionals and phrasal verbs. Renata always prepares her lessons very thorough and provides highly useful teaching material. Besides grammar, we have used our lessons to prepare myself for job applications and interview processes. We have gone through job descriptions and have worked on my cover letter and resume. During this process, Renata has always been a competent and reliable tutor and has given me great advice. What can I say: I got a job! In preparation for my first job in the US, Renata and I have had some lessons about business idioms and presentation skills.
