As a retired teacher for the past 4 years, I have been able to apply my skills and passion for the profession in the venue of working privately with students 1:1 and recently on line. Since 1978 when I graduated with a degree in Education with a focus on Specific Learning Disabilities on the frontier of PL 94-142, (Least Restricted Environment law) . I have worked in Public and Private sectors with students on the Autism Spectrum at all levels, Other Health Impaired, Emotionally Handicapped and ADD/ ADHD, Dyslexia and Dysgraphia, as well as Gifted SLD and General ED. My Certification to 2020 was: Middle School General ED, Varying Exceptionalities K-12, ESOL , Language Arts k-9, and Early Childhood ED. For Over 45 years I was Certified until Covid in 2020 when the Miami Dade County schools Shut down, and I was hired for homeschooling. At this point I had been retired for 5 years and tutoring which was working out very well as I was a Caregiver for my mother. Until February of 2023 when she passed. this was the path I chose as it was a way to stay in my field as well as continue to advocate for families and children in the Public , Private and Home-school areas. Teaching is who I am not just what I do. I truly dedicate myself to holistic approaches, and to providing an individualized skill curriculum for the child as well as to being an advocate, liaison, collaborator and consultant for the parents with school and workplace. From running the Sped IEP and diagnostic assessments for my schools, I have acquired much interventional knowledge. Testimony to my love for my students is evidenced in that I still am in touch with my students from the past 4 decades. I have recently moved to Deerfield Beach from Miami and am trying to build new clients but also work on line more. I hope to gain some clients who can benefit from my eclectic and diverse experience in Differentiated Learning and Neuro Diverse strategies as well as in basic skill needs which need basic reinforcement. for State Assessments.

My qualifications include teaching ASD and ADHD students on a variety of functioning levels in the inclusion model and Special Ed self contained classroom in small group and 1:1 settings since 1982. I created individualized curriculum and materials in language, life skills, social skills, critical thinking areas, meta cognitive strategies, and coping skills for anxiety. I also taught reading and written expression using methods which integrated visual and haptic-kinetic modalities to express and comprehend concepts. I applied specific and frequent positive reinforcement and token economy when required. I understand neuro diversity is a gift not a disability. I have had continuous education in the ASD/ADHD area. My degree and certification for 40 years was in Special Education/ Varying Exceptionalities K-12
