My name is Joe and I am a recent graduate from Western Illinois University. I recently graduated with a Master's degree in history. I have excellent written and verbal communication skills. I am looking to build my resume for future employment. I just moved to Tampa and have interviewed to substitute teach in Hillsborough County.
While awaiting for my teaching career to begin I believe it would be beneficial to start working with students. To that end I would be happy if you would consider me for your tutoring needs. I have extensive experience with U.S. and European History. I have taken courses on the American West, U.S. Environmental history, and the history of the second amendment. I have taken reading courses on the German empire, French Revolution, world war I and II, and genocidal history courses. During my graduate career I was given many chances to teach on various topics within these time periods. I also acted as a moderator for an online course and directed the flow of discussion.
My teaching philosophy relies on making sure my students know the basics of what they are studying. First and foremost students must put in the work. That being said, my job is direct that work and make economical use of the time I have with the student. I will share insights on how best to study and learn the material.
