Hello! I am Ms. Tyler. I graduated with my Bachelors in Childhood Education from CCNY and my MED in Currciculum and Instruction from SNHU. I am currently pursuing my Doctorate at Nova Southeastern University. I have been certified to teach Elementary (K-6) since 2012. I love teaching! One of my favorite parts about teaching is being able to modify instruction to adapt to a students strengths and learning style. By differentiating my lessons, I have been able to effectively help students who are struggling with reading. Students leave my classroom surpassing their end of year goals. They develop their confidence and a love for learning. I enjoy tutoring because it allows me the opportunity to work with students in a more personalized way that allows me to zero in each student's needs.
My expertise is in phonics, decoding, comprehension and writing. One of the most important skills a student can learn in school is the ability to read. Unfortunately, many students do not learn to read correctly or struggle. This damages the learning experience for students and makes them hate reading. A reader who is stuck needs a plan to get through the challenge. This is where I can help!
I am actively teaching and support teachers with their literacy instruction. I provide tier 2 and tier 3 interventions to students who require additional learning support.
I am available to answer any questions and will do my best to provide speedy responses. Feel free to reach out to talk about your child's needs.
