Hi, I’m Christine. Teaching has become a natural extension of the work I’ve always enjoyed most — helping people understand something that initially feels confusing or overwhelming. I’m currently studying Communications at Franklin University, and I’m also TEFL certified. I teach school-age students in a homeschool enrichment program, and my experience with children also includes working one-on-one as an aide for children with special needs and leading classes through church and volunteer programs.
Those experiences have taught me that students do not all learn the same way. Sometimes the biggest difference is simply having someone slow down, explain something differently, and give them room to ask questions. I enjoy working with K-12 students in general academics, reading, writing, English, study skills, elementary math and science, history, and communication. I also enjoy helping English learners build confidence with speaking, vocabulary, reading, writing, and everyday communication.
I try to make tutoring feel comfortable and productive rather than stressful. Before moving forward, I like to figure out exactly where a student is getting stuck and what kind of explanation works best for them.
My goal is not just to help a student finish tonight’s homework. I want them to leave our session understanding the material better and feeling more confident about what they can do independently next time. I use guided questions, examples, visuals, discussion, and practice depending on the learner, and I’m always willing to change my approach when something isn’t clicking.
