Experienced Middle School Science & Biology Teacher

Aileend T.

Hello, my name is Aileend - pronounced like the word "island" but with a silent "D." I graduated from Penn State University with degrees in Wildlife Science and Biology, and I am currently earning my Master's degree in Biology from Grand Canyon University. I have a lot of real experience in the biological sciences - I have done undergraduate research in animal behavior and welfare as well as in environmental science. I also worked in Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World as an informal educator and animal keeper, and performed conservation work on their protected land in central Florida.

I am a certified science teacher for grades 5 -12 in Florida. I have been a teacher for over a decade, teaching 6th, 7th, & 8th grade science and high school Honors Biology. I am extremely passionate about science and about teaching learners to love science as well. I aim to make learning fun by showing my students how science matters to their lives. Many of my past middle school students have returned to visit and tell me how everything I taught them prepared them so well for their high school science classes. My efforts resulted in being awarded Teacher of the Year for the 2025 - 2026 school year.

I am extremely flexible when it comes to how my students learn, and I am happy to make modifications whenever needed. I aim to teach my students in the way that is best for them so they get the most out of their time learning with me. My response time is fast, so please feel free to contact me with questions or if you have interest in scheduling a lesson.
