Hello! My name is Charlie, and I’m a recent graduate of an International Baccalaureate (IB) high school program, where I graduated as valedictorian. I also took AP classes, where I achieved a 5 in AP Physics C E & M, AP Calculus BC, AP Physics 2, AP United States History, and AP World History, as well as 4s in AP Statistics, AP Chemistry, and AP Computer Science Principles. This fall, I’ll be joining the Yale University Class of 2029, and I’m excited to continue my passion for helping others learn. I’ve had the pleasure of tutoring students ranging from age 8 to 18 in subjects like elementary math, Algebra 1 and 2, and SAT preparation. I scored an 800 on the SAT math section (1540 overall), and I understand how important it is not just to know or memorize or briefly skim material, but to feel confident in your ability through a thorough analysis of a question.
I spent a year working at Mathnasium, where I guided small groups of 3–5 students at a time, answering questions, reviewing concepts, and celebrating the “aha” moments that make tutoring so rewarding. Outside of that, I’ve worked one-on-one with peers, siblings, and friends, customizing each session to meet their pace and goals. My approach is patient, encouraging, and always rooted in making math feel approachable rather than intimidating.
