To me, the two most important subjects are math and reading. Those are used every day in everything we do. That is why I choose to tutor and to help students of all ages to be better able to communicate and function in their daily lives.
With over 25 years of experience in tutoring all ages and all levels of math, from basics to Algebra I & II and Geometry, I find great pleasure in "making the light bulb go on" for a student. My students have a high rate of success; many go from failing to making "A" grades in one semester. I love teaching math and especially like helping students with poor foundations understand the basics so they can love math too.
I have also taught adults including a builder trying to get his contractor's license and a substitute teacher working for her teaching certificate. I am willing to teach anyone at any age and enjoy helping individuals learn to like math (or at least do better and tolerate it!). The public school system is designed to help the majority, so it fails students who cannot adjust. My goal is to save those students and help them to like and learn math. My son is very happy with Diana. He said she is very comfortable to be around and she gives him the chance to see the light at the end of tunnel on his math. We are happy math learners!
Diana has always gone beyond just tutoring...she always tells us to call her anytime with questions about math or anything my granddaughter needs to talk about. She truly cares about our granddaughter's success in life.
I believe Diane is the perfect tutor for my son and I am glad to be working with her.
We have already seen an improvement and we will be working together throughout the summer.
I feel very confident about passing my test! Diane has shown me that I'm very good at math. I 'm very happy with Diane.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have over 25 years of substitute teaching and tutoring in math from basics through Algebra and Geometry. Excellent track record of converting failure to success and Fs to As. My goal is help students like, understand and succeed in math.
I was a champion debater in high school. I won the Moot Court Silver Tongue Award in law school. I have done public speaking at political and community gatherings for more than 20 years and have organized and hosted various events for political groups, candidates and charities. I have hosted debates between candidates as a mediator and have taught others how to speak publicly for the last several years. I use several methods when teaching and have been successful with my students.
