Bio

At present, I am a part-time middle school science teacher. I have passed my Subject Area Test required to teach Middle School Science and Biology 9-12th grade.

I have an undergraduate degree in Botany, Geography, Education and a minor in Chemistry. I am experienced in helping children grasp concepts and achieving their goals. I have experience in teaching biology and chemistry on the high school level and science on the middle school level. I look forward to working with you.

Botany was one of my majors for my BSc degree. I studied plant anatomy, physiology including photosynthesis and respiration, plant classification, ecology, cell structure including function and division, plant reproduction and soil science.

I am a current middle school teacher for Grades 6, 7 and 8. I spend much of my time helping students organize their folders, teaching them to make note cards and study sheets, making rhymes, mnemonics and diagrams to help them learn subject matter for tests and gain understanding in the subject area. I have been a teacher for over 20 years and have been a private tutor for 10 years teaching all sorts of subjects from math, english, biology, science and chemistry. I enjoy helping struggling students.

I have been struggling with Chemistry for a while but my first meeting with Helen C. was the first time I am actually starting to get it.

Helen explained things so that I understood. We went the whole first semester without a chemistry teacher at school, just book work. Helen helped me to ace my chemistry midterm which I thought was near impossible.
