Beyond classroom teaching, I've spent the last two years as an AVID mentor, working one-on-one with students who need extra academic support and college readiness guidance. This experience has enhanced my skill in creating individualized plans for each student based on their specific needs and learning style. Whether it's breaking down a complex historical concept, preparing for an AP exam, or just making sense of a confusing textbook chapter, I focus on building historical thinking skills rather than just memorizing facts.
