About Yilan

Bio

I'm currently a college math professor at the State College of Florida (SCF). I have been teaching at the college level for over 7 years. I have over 14 years of experience tutoring in 1-1 or small group settings.
I was the Center Director at a Math tutoring center. I also have experience working with special needs students such as ADHD, Aspergers, OCD and various learning disabilities.

I have the ability to teach using different methods to solve the same type of problems if the initial method doesn't seem to be easy for the student to understand. I believe it's important to be able to show the same problem in multiple ways to students since each student has a different learning style; teaching math should never be "one size fits all".

Not only am I extremely qualified to tutor any math subjects up to Pre-Calculus, I'm also a very caring teacher. At the end of the day, I just want my students to succeed.
