Hi! My name is Grant, and I am a fourth-year osteopathic medical student applying for residency this fall. I have several years of tutoring and mentoring experience, beginning at Pepperdine University, where I worked as a peer tutor in biology and other science-based courses. In medical school, I have continued helping students strengthen foundational knowledge, organize demanding study schedules, and build confidence with clinical reasoning. I passed USMLE Step 1 and COMLEX Level 1 on my first attempts, earned honors on every third-year clinical rotation, performed strongly on my NBME shelf exams, and most recently scored a 270 on USMLE Step 2 CK. My own preparation included extensive use of UWorld, AMBOSS, NBME practice exams, CMS forms, and other question banks, giving me a deep understanding of the content, pacing, and reasoning required for high-stakes medical exams.

My tutoring approach is practical, individualized, and centered on active problem-solving. During sessions, I teach students how to identify the most important clues in a vignette, distinguish between closely related diagnoses, eliminate tempting distractors, and choose the best next step in diagnosis or management. I also help students review missed questions, recognize recurring weaknesses, improve timing, and create realistic study plans based on their goals and available time. I can assist with USMLE Step 1, Step 2 CK, COMLEX, NBME shelf exams, clinical reasoning, question-bank review, and test-taking strategy. Whether a student is trying to pass, raise a score, or prepare for a competitive specialty, I tailor each session to the student’s current level and focus on skills they can continue using independently.
