In Academic Life coaching, we will first work together to build a trusting relationship, then identify goals, explore options, make some decisions, and take action! You will do some “soul searching” and become more aware of yourself. Common topics with an academic coach specifically include time management, motivation, test prep, test anxiety, stress management and study habits. Our meetings are goal oriented and keep you moving forward, to ultimately create the life you want and the academic success you need. To be clear and completely transparent, I do NOT offer tutoring in subject matter. I offer COACHING. I have experience working with college age and graduate level students, in a counseling capacity. I am available to coach college and grad students, in various areas of study. In addition, I am also available to meet with parents since parents often are one of, if not the most, influential support.
I love helping people find their path and achieve their goals. That’s been a constant in my life! I started working with college students while completing my graduate degree and have continued since. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Monmouth University and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Loyola University in MD. I am an ICF Certified Coach and Certified Professional Academic Coach, and currently work at a medical school where I work with students aspiring to become doctors.
I believe in hard work and perseverance, and I work to strengthen the resilience of my students/clients. I am a big believer that “Nothing worth having comes easy”. We work on goals, long term, and short term. I remind my students to take “baby steps” when working towards that goal. I find my work to be extremely rewarding. I help young people reach their full potential.
It is my role as a coach to help my students discover and develop their own strengths, while identifying their weaknesses. I am providing life coaching to students at a critical time and maybe the most transformative in their lives.
