I am an educator and researcher with a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering (with prior M.S. and B.S. in Civil & Agricultural Engineering) and 20+ years of experience teaching and mentoring college, graduate, and adult learners. I have served as a professor at Florida International University and published more than 115 peer-reviewed papers, books, and book chapters while leading projects in watershed management, climate change, and water-resources modeling across the U.S., the Caribbean, Latin America, and Africa.
I specialize in exam preparation for FE (Civil and Environmental; other disciplines) and PE (Civil: Water Resources & Environmental, Construction, Geotechnical, Transportation—and PE Environmental). Many of my students have recently passed their licensure exams, six on the PE across multiple disciplines and four on the FE. My day-to-day tutoring also covers core math and statistics courses, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra I–II, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Trigonometry, Differential & Integral Calculus, Multivariable Calculus, Differential Equations, College/Applied Mathematics, and Statistics at AP/college/business/graduate levels. I additionally support standardized test prep (PSAT, SAT, ACT, Math/Science). I bring prior experience working with a national tutoring company to help learners from diverse backgrounds succeed.
My approach is collaborative and adaptable: I begin with a quick diagnostic to identify strengths and gaps, then build a targeted plan that blends concept mastery with problem-solving drills, reference-manual fluency, and timed practice. Sessions emphasize clear communication, real-world context, and confidence-building so students not only pass exams but also carry durable skills into their coursework and careers.
