HI there! I am new to Wyzant, but I am an experienced teacher and tutor with a strong background in both science and education, and I’m excited to help students reach their academic goals.

I hold a degree in Criminal Justice from Florida Atlantic University, with additional academic experience in neuroscience, behavioral science, and drug development through undergraduate research. My work has given me a deeper understanding of how people learn, think, and process information.

Over the past several years, I’ve worked with students across K–12 and college levels, both in person and online, including those with learning differences. I specialize in subjects such as Anatomy & Physiology, Microbiology, Biology, Chemistry, and math courses ranging from Algebra to Pre-Calculus. I also provide test preparation for exams like the ACT, SAT, HESI A2, and ATI TEAS, and I’m very familiar with what these exams require for success.

In addition to my academic background, I bring real-world experience through clinical exposure, research, and healthcare-focused coursework. This allows me to connect complex concepts, especially in science and pre-nursing studies to real-life applications, making them easier to understand and remember.

My teaching style is highly individualized. I take the time to get to know each student’s learning style, strengths, and challenges so I can tailor my approach specifically to them. Whether it’s simplifying difficult material, using visual aids, incorporating active recall and spaced repetition, or building confidence through encouragement, my goal is to make learning both effective and engaging.

I’m passionate about helping students not only improve their grades but truly understand the material and feel confident in their abilities. Whether you’re preparing for a big exam or just need extra support in a challenging subject, I’m here to help you succeed.

Parent of Student

Peyton is the best geometry teacher we have worked with on Wyzant. Very easy for her to connect with our daughter and she really admires her ability to break down the tough concepts. She cares about the overall progress her students and making sure to give updates as we go. Great if you are looking for a long term tutor and need help in understanding the higher order thinking of math.

Great Tutor!

I had a wonderful experience working with Ms. R. She helped me better understand the material in my online math class and made challenging concepts much clearer. When I was stuck on homework, she patiently guided me through the problems step by step and explained things in a way that finally clicked. Before doing homework, she also gave me a quick rundown of each topic in my module. By the end of the session, I felt more confident and prepared to continue working on my assignments on my own.
