Are you looking for a dependable study buddy? Someone who's dedicated to lessoning your study time? A tutor who'll give you some piece of mind, and one you can reach online, any time?

I may be your man! As a retired U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer and cryptologic Spanish linguist, I have over 20 years experience as a language instructor, trainer, and military technical expert. I graduated from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, the Forester Instituto Internacional in San Jose, Costa Rica, and earned the title of Department of Defense Master Training Specialist.

I am a native English speaker with above average proficiency scores in Spanish, graduated 1st out of 11 in my six-month Defense Language Institute Spanish course, and received the Martin Kellogg Award for distinction as the top student in class. I lived in Panama for 5 years, and have worked in Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Mexico, Guatemala, Cuba, Curacao, and Costa Rica. My experience includes reading, writing, speaking, interpreting, translating, transcribing, and teaching Spanish.

I also provide English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons to non-native speakers. I've taught English for seven years, mostly to immigrants from Central and South America.

On the technical side, I tutor ASVAB and GED test taking skills for those planning a career in the military or life after high school.

I tutor local clients in the Naples, Florida area and students on-line everywhere.

Contact me today if you're looking for an experienced, certified, and proven language tutor, help with your child's homework / course comprehension, or assistance preparing for the ASVAB/GED.

understandable teacher!

Luke W. helped me with some basic math concepts and a little bit of vocabulary. Very patient and understandable since I’m not really good in Math and I solve problems slow.

Aira, 3 lessons with Luke

Luke is very knowledgeable of the Spanish Language. He is patient in allowing me time to work through the more difficult pronunciations , etc.

We are currently working on basic phrases and sentence structure. It is early in my working with a tutor, but I feel Luke is spot on with his approach, lesson plan and material being at my level both now and as each lesson progresses. He is easy to talk to and understand.

Another great session

My son has been working with Luke to improve his skills to take the ASVAB. Lesson two is complete and Nick is gaining confidence each time he meets with Luke. The setup of the sessions is working well to determine areas of focus. So far so good! Looking forward to seeing continued great results!

Kimberley, 7 lessons with Luke

very Patient

Luke was very understanding of my situation with not being in school for a while and took time to assure me I was in a good standing

Shawn, 4 lessons with Luke

HE IS AWESOME, down to earth, common sense, SO patient!

I would recommend any day. Each day more progress is made, each day he makes a difference in my understanding. I am so grateful I found him and he took on helping my son gain points on his ASVAB.
