Hello! My name is Louis, and I'm a graduate of Brown University (2012, B.A. in Development Studies).
Since 2015, I have taught with four programming bootcamps: Le Wagon (Tokyo), Ironhack (Miami), Tech Talent South (US / Spain), and Flatiron School (Remote).

CANCELLATION / LATE / NO SHOW POLICY

Please give notice at least six hours before the start time of a scheduled session if you have to cancel or reschedule for any reason.

If you cancel a scheduled session less than 6 hours in advance but at least 30 minutes before the start time, a fee of up to 50% of the cost of the lesson will be charged.

If you cancel a lesson later than 30 minutes before the scheduled start time, a fee of up to 100% of the cost of the lesson will be charged.

If you show up to a lesson late, the charge for the lesson will still be for the duration between the scheduled start time and the actual end time.

If you are more than 30 minutes late to a session and have not communicated that you will arrive late, the lesson will be considered cancelled and a fee of up to 100% of the cost of the lesson will be charged.

When calculating a cancellation fee, a session duration of one hour will be assumed in all cases unless a different duration has been agreed upon beforehand.

I have several years of experience tutoring Algebra 2, both in-person and online, helping students grasp key concepts like quadratic equations, complex numbers, logarithms, and polynomial functions. I have taught CSS3 in the classroom at three different bootcamps and on a one-on-one tutoring basis. I have also actively worked with CSS3 for nearly 5 years both on personal projects and in professional settings. I am able to use CSS3 to build new designs as well as to customize existing websites.

Louis met with me on very short notice and on Easter day to boot. He brought himself up to speed very quickly with my project and helped me fix my code at the level of my learning (I'm just getting started with HTML and CSS). TERRIFIC tutor!

I needed help with a JavaScript project for a coding bootcamp and was stuck in 4-5 places and didn’t know what to do. Louis sat down with me and not only went over with me what I need to accomplish with my code, but he broke down the best strategy to move forward with, and he did it in a way that was VERY beginner friendly and I didn’t feel lost or confused. When we were finished with my project, we spent a good chunk of time going over what each code meant, function by function, he really wanted to leave me with a good understanding of what we accomplished rather than just finishing it and moving on. It definitely felt like a great one on one tutoring lesson and didn’t feel like “just do my work for me”. I would definitely reach out to Louis again and recommend you do too if you need help with coding in any way. He really helped me understand and learn for this assignment and I’m better off because of his lessons. Next time I’m stuck on a project or feel confused with my lessons in the bootcamp or my homework, I’m definitely reaching out to Louis again. An excellent tutor!
