I have been a university instructor for over 10 years while also being employed in the chemical industry as an R&D executive for a major chemical company. Now retired from industry I am focusing on teaching and tutoring chemistry at the high school and university level (General Chemistry, Quantitative Analysis, Electrochemistry, Heterogeneous Catalysis).

I offer students a good foundation on the fundamental principles of chemistry with an industrial/practical perspective that makes chemistry real and exciting to the students. Good problem solving skills are key to being successful in the above subjects so I focus on developing these skills during the tutoring sessions. Practice in solving problems is truly the key to success.

I have a passion for chemistry that started as a child and continues today. The students will see this passion in my teaching style (homework assignment and review, practical examples, historical developments). I expect focused effort and dedication of the proper time to the subject by the students. With strong effort the students will see very positive results.

Helped me pass with a B!

Robert is really good at explaining complicated material in a way that I can understand. Before tutoring, I was failing all of my quizzes and exams. But after a few sessions with Robert, my grades got much better and I was able to pass the class with a B. I really felt like Robert felt the extra mile when it came to helping me learn the material. When I would message him with a question, he would always respond with a detailed answer and even some practice problems! I would definitely recommend him to anyone taking general chemistry, he really knows the material and knows how to teach it.
