Hello, everyone! My name is Jennifer, and I believe that with the right approach, math is a skill that everybody can learn! I am enthusiastic about cultivating a deep understanding of mathematical concepts and building confidence in students.
I became a high school math teacher after graduating from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a Bachelor of Science in Physics with Honors. During my 8 years of teaching, I taught Geometry, Honors and AP Precalculus, and AP Calculus AB & BC to students of diverse learning styles and abilities. Additionally, for the past 15 years, I have tutored all levels of math from third grade through Calculus, so I can help strengthen any math skills necessary for success in your current math class.
I am a patient and encouraging teacher who loves finding creative ways to simplify and explain concepts. Since most mathematical concepts can be approached in a variety of ways, I teach multiple methods of solution to a problem. This not only helps my students understand why a solution is correct but also helps them connect to the material in a way that is meaningful and memorable.
If you are struggling to pass your EOCs, looking to boost your SAT/ACT score, want to review for a test, need a topic explained in more detail, or if you just need someone to help you work through homework problems, I can and will help! I look forward to hearing from you!
