I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Emory University and completed Emory University’s pre-medical program, with additional academic preparation in biology. I also have classroom teaching experience at the high school level in Honors Probability and Statistics, Algebra II, and Geometry.

My background allows me to support students in both science and mathematics, including chemistry, biology, algebra, geometry, statistics, and related subjects. I understand that many students struggle not because they lack ability, but because they need clearer explanations, better structure, and someone who can help them build confidence step by step.

Before becoming a teacher, I spent much of my professional career in business, product development, and invention. I founded companies, developed and patented consumer products, and brought products to market, including Targon Smokers’ Mouthwash®, which was eventually sold to GSK. This real-world experience helps me show students how science, math, critical thinking, problem-solving, and persistence apply beyond the classroom.

As a tutor, my approach is patient, organized, and encouraging. I focus on making difficult concepts understandable, identifying gaps in knowledge, and helping students develop stronger study habits and problem-solving skills. I want students not only to improve their grades, but also to begin seeing themselves as capable learners.

Whether a student needs help catching up, preparing for a test, strengthening fundamentals, or moving to a higher level of confidence, I bring strong subject knowledge, classroom experience, and a supportive teaching style. My goal is to help each student feel more prepared, more confident, and more successful in science and mathematics.

Approved Subjects

Algebra 1

Algebra 1

I have high school classroom teaching experience in Algebra II, Geometry, and Honors Probability and Statistics, supported by a strong academic foundation from Emory University. I help Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 students with equations, inequalities, graphing, functions, systems of equations, quadratics, word problems, homework, quizzes, and test preparation. My teaching style is patient, structured, and visual, often using boxes, circles, diagrams, and step-by-step layouts to make abstract math concepts easier to understand. Because every student learns differently, I identify how each student learns best and teach in a way that makes high school math clearer, more approachable, and easier to grasp.
Algebra 2

Algebra 2

I have high school classroom teaching experience in Algebra II, Geometry, and Honors Probability and Statistics, supported by a strong academic foundation from Emory University. I help Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 students with equations, inequalities, graphing, functions, systems of equations, quadratics, word problems, homework, quizzes, and test preparation. Biology

Biology

I help biology students understand difficult science concepts through clear explanations, structure, and patient step-by-step support. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Emory University, completion of Emory’s pre-medical program, and additional academic preparation in biology, I bring strong subject knowledge to topics such as cells, genetics, protein structure, enzymes, DNA, RNA, evolution, ecology, and test preparation. I understand that many students struggle in biology not because they lack ability, but because they need the material explained in a way that matches how they learn. My tutoring approach is encouraging, organized, and confidence-building, helping students strengthen fundamentals, improve study habits, prepare for quizzes and exams, and begin seeing themselves as capable science learners.
Chemistry

Chemistry

I help chemistry students understand difficult concepts through clear explanations, organized step-by-step instruction, and patient support. With a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Emory University, completion of Emory’s pre-medical program, and a strong lifelong foundation in chemistry that began with earning my high school Chemistry Award after receiving a 100% grade for the year, I bring strong subject knowledge to topics such as atoms, periodic trends, chemical bonding, reactions, stoichiometry, acids and bases, solutions, gases, thermochemistry, and test preparation. I understand that many students struggle in chemistry not because they lack ability, but because they need clearer structure, stronger fundamentals, and explanations that match how they learn. My tutoring approach is encouraging, visual, and confidence-building, helping students improve homework performance, prepare for quizzes and exams, strengthen problem-solving skills, and feel more capable in chemistry.
Organic Chemistry

Organic Chemistry

I help organic chemistry students understand difficult concepts with clear, step-by-step explanations. I hold a B.A. in Chemistry from Emory University and completed Emory’s pre-medical program. I also synthesized aspirin for a graduate professor conducting pharmaceutical research. My approach is patient, organized, and visual, helping students with reactions, mechanisms, nomenclature, stereochemistry, homework, quizzes, and exams.
