Struggling readers are not struggling learners. They simply need the right instruction, the right tools, and someone who believes in them.
I’m a certified PreK–12 Reading Specialist with over 20 years of experience helping students of all ages develop the skills, confidence, and independence they need to become successful lifelong readers and writers. I work with students from PK through adults in reading, writing, ESOL, and study strategies.
My specialty is working with students with dyslexia, ADHD, and other literacy challenges. As an Orton-Gillingham trained instructor, I use research-based, multisensory instructional approaches to make learning explicit, engaging, and meaningful. By incorporating visual, auditory, and hands-on learning experiences, I help students make connections, strengthen foundational skills, and experience success.
Whether your child is just beginning to develop foundational reading skills or needs support with more advanced literacy or ESOL, I provide individualized instruction in:
~ Phonics & Decoding: Building the foundational skills needed to read unfamiliar words with confidence.
~ Spelling & Written Expression: Strengthening encoding, spelling patterns, sentence structure, and writing skills.
~ Fluency & Comprehension: Helping students move beyond decoding to read smoothly, understand what they read, and engage with text.
~ Dyslexia & ADHD Support: Using structured, multisensory lessons that support attention, memory, and skill development.
~ Confidence & Motivation: Celebrating progress, building resilience, and helping students recognize their own potential.
Every student is different. I begin by getting to know your child as a learner, identifying strengths and areas for growth through preliminary assessments, and developing individual learning plans.
