My name is Nadia and I am currently a reading tutor at a facility in Florida. It is a job that I have fallen in love with and I have decided, why not spend even more time helping others?
I have been working with various age groups there for six months now over Zoom and to see my students learn is the biggest thing that brings a smile to my face. Whether I am helping them sound out simple words, learn about complex sentences, or going over synonyms and antonyms, we always end on a positive note.
Before working at that center, I worked with physically and developmentally disabled adults, working as an Assistant Teacher. This was another passion of mine and I learned that everyone just needs to be treated with kindness, respect, and compassion. With those students, I was more able to focus on arts and crafts, watch movies, and puzzles.
Other than that, I have had tons of experience volunteering! It has been an amazing adventure for me and I hope you can learn something from me as your tutor!
