Hello! My name is Javi and I am 39 years old. I am originally from Spain but moved to the United States when I was 7. I am completely bilingual, have an American accent speaking in English, and a Castilian Spanish accent when speaking Spanish.
I hold three bachelor's degrees: two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Business Administration and Real Estate from Florida Atlantic University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Game Design from Full Sail University. Additionally, I am a certified TEFL instructor, TQUK Level 5 Certificate from International TEFL Academy.
I love teaching and have seen many of my students drastically improve their language skills while having fun. I started teaching English to high school students over several summers in Spain. In 2020 I worked for two large language companies; teaching both English to foreign students and Spanish to English speakers. Since then, I have been tutoring students ranging in age from 5 to over 80 through online classes.
I use The Multi-sensory Approach to teaching languages. At first, I help students grasp new concepts in the student's native language. If I do not speak my student's native tongue, I use the language of interest with pictures to start creating an initial vocabulary for my students. Eventually, we move on to the written, read and spoken language exercises. I assign interactive homework assignments and make the learning experience as enjoyable as possible for my students.
