As a tutor, my goal is to facilitate independent learning. During our sessions, we can go over concepts that you are struggling with, get ahead in your courses, or address whatever academic needs you may have. However, ironically, my goal is to get you to the point where you no longer need math tutoring. The most valuable academic skill you can learn as a student is how to effectively teach yourself so that you can independently excel in any future course, and this is my specialty as a tutor.

While I am new to Wyzant, I can assure you that I have a wealth of experience and success in tutoring, having accumulated over 500 hours of tutoring thus far. I also teach mathematics at Florida Atlantic University, and have taught courses such as Calculus 2, Engineering Mathematics 1 (Diff. Eq.), Introductory Statistics, Business Calculus, and College Algebra. As a Ph.D. student in mathematics, I have a passion for learning and teaching mathematics that I hope to share with all my students.

These courses include real and complex analysis, metric-space and general topology, functional analysis, as well as ordinary and partial differential equations. Most of mathematics, and especially calculus, is intimately connected with the ancient theory of trigonometry. As a Ph.D. student in mathematics, I have taught and tutored many advanced math courses, all of which require a perfect understanding of trigonometry. Trigonometry was also the first course I took in high school that made me consider pursuing mathematics as a career. I find the structure of trigonometric proofs absolutely beautiful, and I love to share my passion with this subject to my students.
