I'm Jennie! I graduated college with a BA in History and spent my first few years out of school working in the History Department of my alma mater. I chose to go into education so that I could share my passion for history with students. I spent the last 10 years teaching both United States and World History. I have experience teaching AP World History, AP US History, and IB History. Additionally, I worked with many of my students on National History Day projects, served as an advisor for the IB Extended Essay, hosted a bi-weekly tutoring program while serving as the sponsor of NHS, and coordinated our German exchange program for 8 years. I love working with students and helping them make connections to what they are learning, whether that is in the classroom, following an interest they have, or even traveling abroad.
For those in the IB program, I was the sole IB History teacher and chose to focus my course on the following topics: The Move To Global War and Rights and Protest (Paper 1), 20th century topics (Paper 2), and the History of the Americas (Paper 3).

Because of strict time-constraints, I find that most AP and IB teachers struggle to fit in adequate time on both content and writing. Many students can benefit from having one-on-one time with a teacher who can answer questions, review content, and help improve both thinking and writing skills. In order to best help, I ask students to email me with the specific
