Since 2012, I have taught students ranging from 11 to 18 years old in both traditional and virtual classroom settings. My teaching experience covers a broad spectrum of mathematics, including Pre-Algebra, Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, and AP Calculus AB/BC. I specialize in a "guided inquiry" method, where I use tools like Desmos and TI-Nspire graphing calculators to help students visualize abstract concepts. This approach is particularly effective for reducing math anxiety and improving performance on high-stakes assessments, as evidenced by the 100% passing rates my students have achieved on Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 End-of-Course (EOC) exams.
Beyond my daily classroom instruction, I have over a decade of experience providing one-on-one tutoring and coaching competitive math teams. As a sponsor for Mu Alpha Theta and a coach for MathCounts, I have mentored students in advanced problem-solving strategies for national competitions and the SAT. This diverse background allows me to adapt my tutoring style to the individual needs of each student—whether they are a gifted learner looking for a challenge or a student struggling to find their footing in a foundational course. My ultimate goal is to foster a deep, logical understanding of mathematics that serves students well beyond the classroom.
