I am a Florida-certified elementary teacher with over 14 years of experience working with children ages 5–12. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Florida Professional Educator Certificate in Elementary Education (K–6). I am also ESOL, Reading and Multi Sensory endorsed. I’ve taught Kindergarten, 4th grade, and 5th grade, served as a math and reading interventionist, and now work as a Math Coach and Team Lead. Over the years, I’ve taught in many settings—traditional classrooms, small groups, one-on-one tutoring, and through volunteer work supporting students outside the regular school day.

Much of my work has focused on students who begin the year significantly below grade level. Using a mix of whole-group instruction, targeted small groups, and individualized one-on-one support, I’ve helped many students grow one to three grade levels in reading and math. I have extensive experience working with learners with dyslexia, ADHD, specific learning disabilities (SLD), and other learning differences. I adapt my approach—using clear, step-by-step explanations, multi-sensory strategies, and frequent check-ins—so each child can access the material in a way that makes sense for them.
No matter the setting, relationships come first. I’m intentional about building trust and rapport so students feel safe, respected, and willing to take risks. Parents often tell me their child “finally feels understood” and is more confident and willing to try after working with me. My goal in every session—whether whole class, small group, or one-on-one—is for students to leave feeling more capable, more supported, and proud of their progress.

ADHD

ADHD

Supporting students with ADHD has been at the heart of my work for my entire teaching career in Title 1 schools. Many students I serve have diagnosed ADHD, and over the years, I've developed practical, compassionate strategies to help them stay focused, feel successful, and build confidence in their abilities. As a parent of children with ADHD myself, I understand both the emotional and academic challenges families face, and I bring that empathy into every session. I use a mix of movement breaks, multisensory instruction, clear routines, and positive reinforcement to keep students engaged and make learning feel manageable and rewarding.
Common Core

Common Core

For several years, I've taught using Common-Core-aligned standards in Florida, along with instructional approaches that closely mirror Common Core practices. I am experienced in helping students understand not just how to get the answer, buy why it works, using multiple strategies, visual models, and real-world examples. My lessons emphasize critical thinking, problem-solving, and clear communication o f mathematical reasoning. I break complex skills into manageable steps, provide plenty of guided practice, and adjust my instruction based on each child's needs so they can build confidence and truly master the concepts behind the standards.
Dyslexia

Dyslexia

I have over 15 years of experience teaching elementary students, including many with dyslexia and other specific learning disabilities, both in the classroom and as a reading/math interventionist. Over the years, I've used structured, multisensory techniques to help students strengthen decoding, spelling, fluency, and comprehension - breaking reading into clear, manageable steps. I focus on building skills and confidence, using repetition, visual supports, and hands-on activities so students can finally experience success with text. I also work closely with families to explain what dyslexia looks like in everyday learning and how we can partner together to support their child.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

For over a decade, I've taught elementary students in grades K-5 across all core subjects, including reading, writing, math and science, with a strong focus on helping them succeed on Florida's state assessments. I have extensive experience preparing students for FCAT, FSA and now FAST, using data-driven instruction, targeted small groups, and clear test-taking strategies to build both skills and confidence. As a an interventionist and math coach, I've supported struggling learners, closed learning gaps, and collaborated with teachers to improve student outcomes across grade levels. My approach is structured, supportive, and tailored to each child so they can grow academically and feel proud of their progress.
Homeschool

Homeschool

I have experience homeschooling my own daughter for a period of time, which gave me firsthand understanding of the flexibility, creativity, and support homeschool families need. Combined with my many years in the classroom, I bring a wealth of curriculum knowledge, instructional strategies, and high-quality resources that can enrich your homeschooler's education. I can help families ensure their children are meeting grade-level expectations, filling any learning gaps, and experiencing the benefits of a certified teacher's expertise - while still honoring the pace and style of learning that works best at home. My goal is to partner with parents to make homeschool learning structured, engaging and deeply meaningful.
