About Brandon

Bio

I help SAT, LSAT, and mainly law school students get "A's."

I have all of the qualifications: graduated from a top 20 law school, manage a litigation firm, and can effectively communicate to students. I have hundreds of hours of tutoring, where hundreds of students will vouch for me, as they have in my reviews. I'm one of the best tutors on this website. But mainly my goal is to get my students "A's."

Logic

Logic

My experience in logic revolves around the logical nexus needed between factual information and the analysis of a legal case. To build a coherent argument, in your legal career as a law student, one must have both sufficient and necessary knowledge of building logical arguments on behalf of the client. If an attorney does not build logical arguments as to why the judge should side in favor of the attorney's client, then the attorney will lose case after case, or be subject to discipline based on lack of knowledge. My knowledge in logic centers around the ability to build coherent, logical arguments on behalf of clients in my law school career. Currently, I am a law school student at a top 20 school -- Washington University School of Law. To achieve this level of excellence as a law school student, and to be accepted into such a prestigious program, a student must 1) score incredibly well on the LSAT or 2) achieve great grades in law school. My history with logic begins with a good LSAT score and leads to great grades in law school based on logical arguments in essay form examinations. Specifically, as it pertains to anecdotal experience: one example that comes to mind, where I successfully tutored students in case logic at the law school where I obtained my J.D. For example, in one particular instance, we discussed the case of the hidden dynamite in the case Palsgraf v. Long Island Railroad. It's quite the legal classic. Essentially, the case turns on the issue of whether the explosion of dynamite (that was in a passenger's bag, who was climbing onto a train) was the proximate cause of a clock falling and striking a woman in the head causing her injuries. To analyze this case, one must be founded in logic. The logical analysis of this case is one which will hopefully explain to the graders of this wyzant course, exactly how logic relates in law and practice. I explained the above case to a 1L, or underclassmen, in the following way: First, the court must look to determine the elements of the inju

He cuts through the noise and brings me the "meat and potatoes" in healthy servings.

Mnemonics and step-by-step analysis (checklists) for answering test questions. Instead of just throwing a bunch of materials at me (he did provide materials), Brandon walked me through each step and contextualized the approach to the work. Even more importantly, Brandon has a wealth of experience with test questions and answers. This is a high-value tutor. Good luck!

pragmatic tutor

Brandon is very knowledgeable about law school success and success on the bar. He is able to communicate his strategies and knowledge clearly. He doesn't waste time pandering to students but instead makes a strong effort to help the student make progress. He is also willing to meet several times a week during his busy schedule. He has a realistic approach about what it takes to make it to your first job in the legal field. -Dan H

Wonderful tutor!

Really worked through the problems so I can go back and rewatch and following the thinking. I like he didn't try to make me work through it first just to tell me it was wrong but was able to explain how to approach the problem to get to the correct answers.

He was super patient and informative

Brandon, was fantastic. He took his time to explain things but was also mindful of the hourly rate. He helped me understand annotations and Case reading/briefing better than I was able to by watching 15 YouTube videos.

greater teacher gets straight to the point!

Brandon S. Was extremely helpful and helped me understand criminal law and civil procedure under stressful timed conditions. I would highly recommend using him for tutoring especially because he is very reasonably priced compared to other tutors!
