Bio

I’m an experienced researcher and college instructor and have pursued training in how adults learn. I’m also a life-long student and a parent of students (one in high school and one in college). As an instructor and as a tutor, I use student-centered approaches. I excel at clarifying concepts, communicating ideas, and facilitating learning through problem solving. I can help you to clarify your goals if necessary and will work with you so you can reach them.

For the past decade I have worked in the field of book publishing and have refined my skills as a writer, editor, and proofreader. In this work, I gained extensive experience using MS Word, Excel, InDesign, Acrobat, and Photoshop, among other programs.

My academic training is as a historian of art, architecture, and material culture. I received my masters degree in Art History, majoring in American art (and minoring in Greek, Islamic, and Northern Renaissance art). I am currently completing my doctoral degree in Art History, majoring in American Art and minoring in Native American Art. Most of the college-level courses I've taught have been in the field of art history.

Very helpful and knowledgeable!

He was incredibly patient and helpful; he cared about the thought I had put into my college essays but still made necessary improvements. I will definitely consult him again if I need more help, and I'd recommend him to anyone seeking a caring and knowledgeable tutor.
