I graduated from Drexel University in 2011 with a major in Chemistry Education and obtained my Chemistry teaching certificate in Pennsylvania before moving and becoming a certified chemistry teacher in Delaware. Shawn has been a great help in our daughter's Chemistry studies. It is one thing to know the topic, and quite another to be able to explain topics to a student who is frustrated and lacking any level of confidence in the class. Shawn explains the material in a way that our daughter understands it, and is honest with her about topics that are in fact more challenging. Our daughter now believes that Chemistry is something she can handle, and that is completely due to Shawn's tutoring. Beyond the actual Chemistry work, my daughter is a student-athlete with commitments and schedules that can change daily. She is also not so good about letting me know when she needs some tutor-time either (ugh :) ). Despite these challenges Shawn is just a text away and is so incredibly accommodating about moving times or even coming over same day if possible. With both parents working and 3 other kids to chauffeur around, it's a huge benefit that Shawn comes to our house to do the tutoring - he even takes time to say hi to our dog. :)

Patient and Flexible
Shawn has been helpful in helping me learn chemistry. Every time I need help on a topic he always takes the time to talk through it and even through practice problems. Scheduling is usually a problem for online sessions but Shawn has always been flexible with respect to my time.

After one AP Chemistry session with Shawn, I believe my daughter has gotten some confidence back. She was ready to give up and accept the low grade she was getting. He helped her by giving her a different approach on problem solving and guiding her and letting her work the problems. We spoke after the lesson and I can tell that he loves teaching the younger generation and is inspired by there energy and wants to help them get through the struggle! Great tutor, flexible - Wish I had found him earlier!

Very Patient Chem Tutor- Would recommend
Shawn was my tutor this summer when I took accelerated college chem I in six weeks instead of fifteen. Shawn was very patient and made sure that we took as much time as was needed to completely understand the material.
