I have developed my knowledge of criminal justice, public safety, leadership, government, and history through a combination of higher education, professional experience, military service, and teaching. I am a college professor at Delaware Technical Community College, where I bring practical experience and real-world perspectives into the classroom. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University and am currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Educational Leadership at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
My professional background includes experience in law enforcement, corrections, fire protection, investigations, legal support, and public safety. Through these roles, I have developed practical knowledge of the criminal justice system, constitutional and legal principles, government operations, investigations, report writing, leadership, and professional communication. I also have a strong interest in American and military history, particularly the development of American government, major conflicts, constitutional issues, and the relationship between historical events and modern institutions. My understanding of military history is further informed by my service in the United States Army Reserve.
Teaching, training, and mentoring have been important parts of my career. During my military service, I served as a Non-Commissioned Officer and Team Leader responsible for training, mentoring, and developing soldiers. I have experience working with teenagers, college students, and adults in both individual and group settings. I adapt my teaching style to each learner's experience, goals, and needs while emphasizing critical thinking and genuine understanding rather than memorization. I can assist with criminal justice, U.S. and military history, government, public safety, leadership, academic support, professional development, and interview preparation.
