I am passionate about teaching. My philosophy about teaching is simple. I learn to teach and teach to learn. I cherish teaching organic chemistry in a clear and concise manner that is helpful to students during exams, and enable them to understand the subject deeply. I include day to day examples in my teaching, like the browning of cut apple is due to oxidation and pickling of cucumber /dill is due to osmosis. Thus, my students, appreciate the practical knowledge they gain through my teaching. I tune my teaching to the ability of the student, fully understanding that there are different types of learners. some could be an auditory learner, some visual, some experimental, etc. At the end, a successful teacher is one who understands the learning pattern of the students and accordingly deliver the subject matter. Exams are important to test such understanding, so a teacher needs to develop material both concise and clear, that can be easily learnt.

I also teach SAT Chemistry, AP Chemistry Exam Preparation and materials.

I came up with the idea of videotaping the teaching labs, after seeing students struggling with it, and posted them online. This was very useful to incoming and future students. Recognizing my efforts, I was awarded outstanding graduate teaching 2010 by the chemistry department, university of Missouri-Columbia.

Students do contact me when you need help in organic chemistry during exams and at other times. I can be specific and detailed in breaking down concepts for better grades in exams.
