Hello! I'm Allison. I have a Master's Degree in Special Education/Learning Disabilities and an undergradtuate degree in Elementary Education. I am a certified Orton-Gillingham practitioner and Wilson tutor and have successfully taught many, many children with dyslexia how to read, write, and spell. I spent twenty five years in both public and private education as a classroom teacher, a Title 1 reading teacher and an administrator. I am now working directly with dyslexic children and their families to provide them with highly effective reading and writing instruction for children with dyslexia.

Most recently, I was Lower School Head at AIM Academy in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania and Head of School at Center School in Abington, Pennsylvania, schools that specialize in teaching children with dyslexia and ADHD. I was the founding director of the Children's Dyslexia Center in Danville, Illinois and proudly served as a board member for the Pennsylvania and Delaware Branch of the International Dyslexia Association from 2013-2017.

When providing online tutoring, I use the Wyzant online platform. It's easy and fun for both my students and me who are able to see and hear each other in real time. It allows me to download word lists, sentences, and passages for my students to see, read, mark and write on so I can provide them with immediate feedback in order to assist them in developing independent decoding and comprehension skills.

I offer free consultation and a free sample lesson, individually designed for your child. I get great joy from teaching children to read and my students tell me that they enjoy working with me! I promise to provide your child with the best reading instruction money can buy, a friendly yet professional environment, and ongoing communication regarding your child's progress. Contact me now to discuss your child's needs and to schedule a free sample lesson.
