Hello. My name is Michael Allen and I have been an educator for the past 27+ years. I have taught math topics spanning from intervention math to struggling 5th graders to Calculus and everything in between. I have also been a Dean of Students, a Districtwide Instructional Coach, and an Assistant Principal. Throughout the years and through all my roles I always found teaching students the most rewarding. I believe this is my calling and have therefore moved back to the role as a teacher and am currently in my second year of teaching Geometry at the High School level.
I am a Delaware native, born and raised in Laurel. I still live in Laurel and am active in my community. I have spent many years coaching and umpiring Little League, working with the Odd Fellows organization raising funds for charities and community members in need, as well as other various activities.
I have tutored students ranging from 4th grade through college and those students have shown incredible success. One student, the 4th grader who was struggling with confidence more that anything, has gone on and pursued mathematics in college. I enjoy tutoring and have been told that I have the gift of being able to break down and explain mathematics concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I am confident I can do this for any student.
