I'm a graduate from Delaware State University with a BBA in Management and am currently pursuing a Masters Degree in History at Delaware Technical Community College. At the high school and college level, I've had almost a decade of experience with tutoring in the writing and learning center, helping my peers excel in their assignments. Some of the subjects I tutor include writing, English, grammar, American history, world history, political science, and government. Tutoring is something I've loved doing for a long time, and that's why I continue to work with students to help them meet their needs and achieve their goals.
Having taken many different courses during my educational career, I'm well aware that the personality and teaching style of the instructor are essential for being able to enjoy a class and excel in it. As such, my tutoring style is not to have my students conform to a specific way of learning but rather to engage with them in constructive conversation, get to know their strengths and weaknesses, tailor my instruction to meet their specific needs and skill sets, and maintain an upbeat charisma in the process! Typically, I won't give away the answers to particular questions on homework assignments but will guide and teach my students how to arrive at those answers on their own. My students always leave my tutoring sessions feeling fulfilled and empowered, and they usually have fun too!
I'm always flexible to my students' scheduling needs and have near wide-open availability. I respond quickly and am always happy to answer any questions by phone or email before or after sessions.
I have taught World History for 8 years to high school and university students. At time we focus on the impacts the past has had on the present. I have a strong emphasis on reading and writing.
