Hi, I'm Steve! Looking forward to meeting you soon. I have been a Certified K-12 teacher for over 15 years and I have taught in Middle/High School classrooms in many states and now I tutor/teach mostly online. I have taught all levels of US History, Government, Geography as well as World History.

I am new to Wyzant but I have been tutoring online for the past 5 years and have built up a lot of great resources for English Literature, American Literature, ACT Reading, and Admittance essays as well as many Writing prep courses. I have tons of resources for Reading as well and I am sure I have a short story, Novel, or Poem that will grab your child's attention.

I LOVE to help students of all ages to understand these subjects in a new way.

As a lifelong student, I understand the struggles that many of these subjects can cause and will strive to help in any way I can. I am very comfortable tutoring in any of these subjects and if you have a specific need (a certain book, idea, paper etc. (please do not hesitate to contact me and I will come up with a plan for you.

I believe you learn more when you have fun and feel little pressure so I strive to make my tutoring sessions fun, very useful, and as interesting as possible. I still remember my favorite teachers much more than I remember any lessons they taught me so I go above and beyond to help you not only learn the subject manner but help you to be able to use it in a productive manner and to remember what you learn.

Engaging and knowledgeable tutor!

Steve has been helping my 13-year-old son this summer prepare for the transition into AP English in 8th grade. I wanted my son to have a structured path to succeed with his AP assignments, and Steve provided exactly that. He built a strong connection with my son, making the classes not only productive but also engaging. My son truly enjoyed working with Steve, and together they made significant progress in a short period of time, ultimately accomplishing the goal we had set.

Great teacher!!!

My son really enjoyed this class. The class was unusual and thought provoking. Steve helps the kids think for themselves by asking the right questions and allowing them to formulate their own conclusions instead of simply giving them the answers. I like that approach - it has really helped my boy to have the courage to express his thoughts openly. Steve's approach is constructive and really positive. We will try to attend every class we can. Highly recommend this tutor.

After the first class, my 11 years old son gave Steve two thumps up and was looking forward to future lessons with Steve. Steve is knowledgeable and has his way to engage students in his class. My son doesn't talk or express himself much in his regular school, however he feels comfortable and interactives freely with Steve in his class, starting from the first one. Steve knows how to engage my son into the learning process without feeling like it is another "school work". My son told me that Steve's class is next to MineCraft game, which is his the most favorite "topic" and hard to beat in short term :-).

Steve was very encouraging and supportive for my 15 yo daughter who has always struggled with writing. He was very relatable to her, she even said it was a great experience and within a short time with Steve, she was able to get more on paper than she thought she would. She received clear next steps from him on how to proceed and felt positive about her work. First time! We also did a quick review with him in preparation for a test... don't know how she did yet but she felt confident and hopeful. Steve did not have many reviews as he just started with Wyzant but I am glad we worked with him!
