Hi! I'm Caroline, a recent Yale graduate, where I finished at the top of my class studying Sociology and Economics. Accepted into several other top university programs, including Harvard and the University of Pennsylvania, I use my success and knowledge in this area to help my students through their own college application process. Particularly adept at understanding what makes a strong college application essay, I’ve been proofreading and working on essays with middle and high school students for several years now.
I’ve tutored for over 5 years, ages 8–18 and have taught a variety of different subjects from general schoolwork planning and organization to English, math, standardized test prep, and college application help. I also have experience working with students with ADHD, helping them build better study habits, organization, and confidence in their work.
Being closer in age with many of my students, I’m better positioned than most tutors to offer a welcoming learning environment where they feel comfortable making mistakes and asking questions without the pressure of pleasing an intimidating older teacher.
I’ve received perfect scores in both the English and Reading sections of the ACT and SAT, scored 1500+ on the SAT, and was a National Merit Scholar with a top PSAT index score. I’ve studied these tests for many years and have a very strong grasp on the exam structure, including the patterns and strategies needed to master them.
English, particularly grammar skills, reading comprehension, and writing, are my strongest areas, and I’m eager to share what I have learned with my students.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out — no pressure! We can just have a discussion of what your needs and future goals are and see if we are a good fit. If you have further inquiries about my work or you are looking for a tutor in another subject, please feel free to contact me.
