I was a student in the Montessori system for 10 years and have tutored Montessori students. For high school, I transitioned to a traditional school where I continued to teach students in both traditional and Montessori schools. Throughout high school, I worked with Islands of Stability to spearhead an English-learning curriculum for elementary and middle school teachers. These were the most fulfilling experiences for me and as a result, I am currently studying for an Education minor at Georgetown University. I love working with elementary students because of all their potential and energy. I also love to read and write and I hope to convey and mirror this interest for all of my tutees. I have taught elementary students a variety of subjects for the last 7 years and continue to work with some students today.
My love for teaching stems from the fact that I come from a family of teachers. I grew up understanding the importance and value of education and I try my best to encourage that sentiment in every student that I tutor. I understand the importance of elementary level education and I know how it can be a transformative time for every child.
I have been teaching Elementary students for the last 6 years. I have helped students with a variety of subjects from reading, writing to math, and science. I value the energy and potential of elementary students and this drives my love for teaching this age group. I have experience developing curriculums from scratch which has allowed me to do a deeper dive into the profile of learners at this age. With this understanding, I believe I can provide a more personalized approach for every student I tutor.
