About Cameron

Bio

I’ve been an instructor for a while — first by running poetry workshops at middle and high schools in my hometown, and later as a teaching assistant while I was getting my first masters degree. I was a Mitchell Scholar, a Rhodes Scholar finalist, and a college athlete with a 4.0 GPA.

I have done some tutoring for college test prep and writing, and I’m excited to help young people with reading, writing, and life skills!

I love the English language. I have worked professionally as a copy editor and in writing. I’ve won several awards for my writing, including most recently an award from Trinity College for the best dissertation in my graduate college. Additionally, I am a championship spoken word poet who has some experience with creative writing as well!

For test prep, I scored a 780 on the SAT reading and a 168 on the GRE critical reasoning section, and have tutored several people in preparation for these exams. I also have a lot of experience drafting and reviewing personal statements.

I played Division-1 football at two institutions: as a quarterback at Georgetown for two seasons, and as a tight end at Syracuse for three seasons. I am a four-year letter-winner and a former starter at Syracuse. I hope to offer insights not only on the sport, but also on the recruiting process, expectations for families, and the time management skills needed to succeed.
