Hello my name is Austin. I am a university graduate in possession of a BA and MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. A second MA in History was completed at the University of Sussex. Through a year-long fellowship with KIPP DC I have trained as a special education teacher and passed the PRAXIS Core Knowledge and Application (5354) exam.

Hello my name is Austin. I am a university graduate in possession of a BA and MA in Social Anthropology from the University of Edinburgh. A second MA in History was completed at the University of Sussex. Through a year-long fellowship with KIPP DC I have trained as a special education teacher and passed the PRAXIS Core Knowledge and Application (5354) exam.

I have experience teaching both at college level (mostly freshman) and at the middle school level, primarily as a special education teacher. History is my passion, but I am knowledgeable and experienced at teaching a variety of subjects. In particular English Language Arts, including reading intervention has been my focus for the past three years. I also have knowledge of the IB program and UK university level education systems.

Teaching students from a diversity of backgrounds and educational experiences how to think critically, and express their ideas in written and spoken form on a range of subjects has been central to my teaching experience.
