I am a graduate student studying for a PhD in history at Howard University with experience in history, public speaking, math, and writing. With regard to public speaking, I have assisted a broad range of students and professionals, including scientists and physicians at Stanford University. One unique aspect of my approach has been conducting video evaluations. Additionally, I have been an active member of the public speaking and leadership organization Toastmasters International for over 4 years. I recently achieved Distinguished Toastmaster designation, which is the highest award in the organization. While in Toastmasters, I have had the opportunity to be a Division Director, which involved coaching many different types of public speaking clubs. Finally, in terms of writing, between grad and undergrad, I have written over 100 papers on an array of topics. I was honored to have my paper on Japanese internment included in the archives of the World War II Japanese American Internment Museum in McGehee, Arkansas.

My tutoring style focuses on unique concepts, ideas, and facts that resonate with the client. If it resonates, a person is more likely to remember. For example, I recently created a multi-session sequence to teach American history through song. Therefore, I emphasize trying to present information in a way that is both customized and applicable.

Currently in my fifth year in a PhD program focusing on American History. I have taught and tutored on the subject for the past 8 years on a part-time basis. I particularly specialize in Black American history.

Have helped people prepare for interviews from time to time for the past 5 years. Many were people looking to get into medical school. Each person I have helped has wound up going to a medical school (10 + people). Other people I have helped wound up in a graduate school of their choice or got a better job.

Having been a Toastmaster for 11 years now, I have presented over 300 speeches (ex. workshops, educational sessions, motivational talks) to crowds of varying sizes (less than 5 to well over 200) across the globe. Outside of Toastmasters, I have been a public professional speaking tutor/coach for the past 8 years. I have worked with individual clients as well as schools such as Stanford Medicine.

In pursuing a doctorate in U.S. History, one must become very familiar with important concepts regarding the U.S. government and how it functions. Laws, branches, and procedures are just some of the important aspects of the government that I have needed to know to pursue my degrees over the years. At the same time, I have experience with teaching these concepts to people via tutoring part-time the past 8 years.

I am teaching a collegiate level course in World History as an independently contracted instructor. I have previously taught courses in the history of China, food around the world, and drinks around the world. Throughout my time in my history PhD program, African History has been a minor concentration of mine where I took several graduate level courses.

Between undergraduate and graduate, I have written over 100 papers on topics mostly related to history. These papers vary from a meager page to 30 pages. One of the papers I wrote is even archived in a museum in Arkansas. Additionally, I had the chance to co-write a leadership article in the Noyce Leadership Institute newsletter, which has hundreds of readers around the world. Finally, I have written reports on the public speaking skills of clients with national and even international renown.

He helped me with my history paper by suggesting promising research directions and sharing a number of highly useful resources that I could use to develop my analysis and argument.
