I have worked with students in elementary, middle and high schools and have taught English as a second language to adults. I am a certified elementary school teacher with teaching experience in multiple schools in the DC area as well as most recently managing learning support for students at QSI international school of Benin, West Africa. I enjoy developing personalized lessons for students who struggle with ordinary academic tasks. I have experience helping students prepare for math and reading tasks on standardized tests. I enjoy demonstrating math concepts and skills with real everyday objects, and helping students to improve their reading using engaging games and materials.

I am a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer who worked in Guatemala and English and Rwanda. I have studied international Education at GWU and was lucky to intern with organizations in Bangladesh and Pakistan conducting teacher training workshops in participatory methods of instruction and exploring curriculum materials. As a PhD student in Special Education at UMD, I led groups of university students to El Salvador to conduct educational activities with children in rural villages and conducted research interviewing teacher in local schools about the inclusion of children with disabilities. My study of education and experience in schools around the world has given me many ideas for ways to simplify lessons and engage students in the challenges of learning.

I am especially interested in providing help online, to provide convenient support to all students. Please let me know how I can best help you to succeed at your studies and advance to new challenges.

As the son of a US History and government teacher I grew up examining the news for examples of US government history and challenges.
