He was an Adjunct Professor at the Georgetown University Law Center and a Scholar-in-Residence at American University’s School of International Service. His principal professional and academic interests include (i) International Economic Crime, (ii) Comparative Corporate Governance, and (iii) Developments in Post-Soviet Russia and Belarus. He has in excess of 50 academic and professional publications.
He has given presentations at the International Monetary Fund, Kennan Institute, Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty, Royal Institute of International Affairs (Chatham House), World Bank and at numerous academic and professional conferences. He has been engaged in the full-time practice of law for more than 15 years.
He was “Senior Counsel” to the law firm of Maxwell & Barke, LLC, and has served as expert witness both in the U.S. and abroad in judicial and arbitral proceedings. He has degrees from Harvard University (magna cum laude) and the Georgetown University Law Center (cum laude).
He is a member of both the D.C. and Maryland Bars, and also numerous professional associations such as the American Bar Association, the former American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies, and International Bar Association.
He has appeared on both television and radio in the U.S.
