Dear Parents and Students,
Hello! My name is Caitlin. I am a long-time humanities and special education teacher with a decade of experience working with students who are hitting road blocks at school. In addition to one-on-one tutoring, I also teach humanities full time in Washington, D.C., working primarily with students with dyslexia, expressive language challenges, and executive functioning issues. I am lucky to work at a school that encourages teachers to be creative and meet students where they are at. I love tutoring because it allows me to do just that – individualize my time with students in the moment.
Over 15 years of tutoring, a masters in teaching, learning and curriculum development, a masters in American history, and even my undergraduate work in international history, politics and geography has given me a broad base of experience. Thus, I offer tutoring in any of the humanities, including literature, history, and civics. I am especially passionate about bolstering students' study, time management and organizational skills; these often overlooked tools tend to make all the difference for struggling, average, and even advanced students. I also work with students on improving their writing, including essays, short answers, and professional communication.
I look forward to working with you and hope you will consider making me a part of your academic success! Please fee free to reach out if you have any questions or want to speak further about tutoring possibilities.
Best of luck in your search for a tutor and your academic endeavors going forward,
Caitlin
