I am a special education teacher with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Elementary Education, as well as a Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I previously received certification in Elementary Education (1-6) and Early Childhood Education (birth-2). I have completed the Fundamentals of Reading Instruction Language Essentials for Teachers of Reading and Spelling (LETRS) program and also took courses in a Dyslexia Certificate Program (University of Florida). This has helped me develop a background in the science of reading, reading intervention, and reading disabilities.
I have experience teaching grades Pre-K-5th in a variety of settings including in classrooms, small group, and one to one settings. As a special education teacher, I have a wealth of experience in providing individualized instruction and making content more accessible. I have training and experience with a variety of literacy curriculums and programs including: UFLI, SPIRE, Heggerty, Fundations, Common Lit, and EL Modules.
I enjoy helping students set meaningful goals and making individualized plans to help them achieve these goals. My tutoring sessions are structured, fun, and rooted in evidenced based practices.
