I hold a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School of Law, where I graduated cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Western Washington University, where I graduated magna cum laude. My undergraduate studies also included minors in Arabic and Islamic Studies and the Study of Religion. Both degrees required extensive academic reading, research, analytical writing, and persuasive argumentation. My legal education further strengthened my ability to teach grammar, reading comprehension, critical thinking, essay organization, research methods, and effective written communication.

I currently teach English Language Arts to high school juniors and seniors at Maya Angelou Public Charter School in Washington, D.C. My classroom experience includes teaching literature, composition, grammar, vocabulary, textual analysis, and evidence-based argumentative writing to students with diverse academic backgrounds and learning needs. I regularly develop lessons, assessments, and individualized instructional materials that help students strengthen their reading comprehension, organize their ideas, develop clear thesis statements, and support arguments with textual evidence. My teaching approach combines direct instruction, guided practice, constructive feedback, and opportunities for independent application.

I am particularly qualified to tutor middle school, high school, and college students in reading, writing, English literature, essay development, and academic research. I emphasize building students' confidence while helping them become more independent and effective readers and writers. Whether a student needs assistance with foundational literacy skills, a challenging literary text, a research paper, or college-level academic writing, I adapt my instruction to their individual goals, abilities, and learning styles. My objective is not simply to help students complete assignments, but to equip them with lasting analytical and communication skills.
