I hold a master’s degree in Biostatistics from UCLA and a bachelor’s degree in Biology with minors in Statistics and Neuroscience from UNC. I developed a strong academic foundation through challenging coursework, with a particular strength in mathematics. I also performed strongly on the math portions of the SAT and ACT and, later, the quantitative section of the GRE. My education and professional experience prepare me to tutor statistics, biostatistics, data analysis, SAS programming, and SAT/ACT math.
My teaching experience includes serving as a teaching assistant at UCLA in 2022, working with university students in an academic setting. In research and analytical roles at UCLA, Kaiser Permanente, and Thermo Fisher Scientific, I have applied statistical methods to scientific questions, developed and checked statistical programs, and communicated findings to collaborators. I bring practical experience with SAS data management and PROC SQL, along with the ability to connect statistical concepts to real research examples.
My tutoring approach is patient, collaborative, and focused on understanding. I begin by identifying each student’s goals and where they are getting stuck, then break challenging topics into manageable steps. I use guided examples, questions, and independent practice to help students understand the reasoning behind a solution. For SAT and ACT math, I focus on mathematical foundations, efficient problem-solving, and confidence. Whether helping a high school student with math or a college student with statistics or SAS, my goal is to build skills they can apply independently beyond our lessons.
