I am an experienced educator and mentor with a background in science, healthcare, and student support. My teaching experience includes working as a Biology Teaching Assistant at Mills College, where I provided both classroom instruction and individualized support to undergraduate and graduate students. I especially enjoy helping students take complex scientific concepts and break them down into clear, understandable ideas. I adapt my teaching approach to each student’s learning style, goals, and level of understanding.
My academic and professional experiences have given me a strong foundation in biology and the life sciences. I completed my medical education at the University of California, San Francisco, where I developed extensive knowledge of biology, medicine, research, and clinical science. Throughout my career, I have also designed and delivered educational programs, trained healthcare professionals and community partners, and helped students and other learners understand technical information in accessible ways. These experiences have taught me how to make challenging material approachable while encouraging students to ask questions, think critically, and develop confidence in their abilities.
I tutor students from elementary school through college, with a particular focus on science and biology. I also offer SAT and MCAT preparation, helping students strengthen their content knowledge, develop effective study strategies, and approach standardized tests with greater confidence. Whether a student is building foundational skills in elementary school, navigating challenging high school science courses, succeeding in a college biology class, or preparing for the SAT or MCAT, I take a patient, encouraging, and individualized approach. My goal is not simply to help students get the right answer, but to help them understand the material, become more independent learners, and feel confident in their ability to succeed.
