I am a licensed Wisconsin K-9 educator and a graduate student at Georgetown University pursuing a Master of Arts in Educational Transformation. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Education and Youth Studies and Psychology from Beloit College, where I graduated with departmental honors and a 3.94 GPA. I currently support Grade 3 students in a DC public school setting, and I am committed to helping elementary students build both strong academic skills and confidence as learners.
My teaching experience includes an 18-week student-teaching placement in a kindergarten classroom, including nine weeks of full-time instruction. I designed differentiated lessons for students with varied learning and language needs, supported early literacy and oral language development, and created engaging instructional materials. I have also taught 52 hours of fifth-grade honors math in a multilingual classroom, using hands-on, project-based activities and clear scaffolding to make grade-level content accessible.
I tutor elementary students in reading, foundational literacy, English, writing, and math. My approach is structured, patient, and responsive to each student’s needs. I use explicit modeling, guided practice, visuals, and positive feedback to identify where a student is getting stuck and help them make steady progress. My goal is for students to leave each session understanding the skill more clearly and feeling more capable of working independently.
